Jane and Stephen Fox - Founders of Wound Care Solutions

Spurred to action by witnessing global encounters with catastrophic wounds, they developed a selective hydro-mechanical debridement system designed by Stephen, capturing all wound material and liquid discharge to cleanse wounds, while Jane mastered a treatment procedure harnessing the benefits of irrigation debridement.

Their fulfilling family life includes four children and six grandchildren who keep them busy.

Despite their success, they remain grounded, finding fulfilment in the tangible impact their work has on patients and their families. With their sights set on expanding their reach, Jane and Stephen established a company in San Antonio, Texas, handpicking a management team who shares their unwavering commitment to providing evidence-based solutions for wound care. Stephen Fox launched his career with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Sheffield Polytechnic (now Sheffield University) before transitioning to the medical field, specializing in orthopaedics and eventually finding his niche in wound care.

Motivated by a passion for healing and innovation, he tirelessly developed a ground-breaking approach to wound debridement, aiding thousands of patients and caregivers across more than 50 countries.

Stephen’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own company, diversifying his professional portfolio. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, guiding international businesses through global markets. Extensive travel and collaboration worldwide have enriched his professional acumen and enabled him to cultivate lifelong friendships. Living in both the USA and Saudi Arabia has exposed Stephen to diverse cultures, enriching his perspectives.

Beyond work, he enjoys F1 Racing and Rugby Union, underscoring his love for sports and competition. Jane Fox is a dedicated founder with a rich background in healthcare. She began her career as a personal assistant for a prominent USA medical company, in which she gained the extensive training required in the wound care sector, part of her role was to travel extensively to organize conferences and provide training seminars for wound care medical professionals around the world. Jane’s passion for nursing runs deep, influenced by her mother, who was a nurse.

In her leadership role, Jane has overseen hundreds of debridement’s around the world using our proprietary system, which she was involved in the development of, the Pulsar II™. She takes great pride in making a significant, tangible difference in people’s lives by healing wounds that have been hindering them, often for several months and even years.

Outside of her professional life, Jane is a globetrotting mom to four children spread across the USA, Cyprus, and the UK, all of whom have families of their own. In her adventurous spirit, she has completed a 15,000ft free-fall skydive and is an Advanced Open Water Scuba diver, relishing standout dives like hand feeding Bull Sharks and exploring wrecks and caves. She also competes with her beloved horse, Jimmy Joe, in One Day events. Despite spare time being a luxury, she prioritizes spending it with her family.

Patrick began his career having spent 22 years on active duty with the U.S. Army. During his military tenure, he commanded a Combat Support Hospital and was Deputy Chief of Staff of Brooke Army Medical Center. His final posting was working on the Army Surgeon General’s Staff, where he was instrumental in the transition of the Army healthcare delivery system from CHAMPUS to TRICARE.

Patrick also has Command experience at the Company and Battalion level. Upon leaving the Army, he went to work buying and selling hospitals and then ran a healthcare advertising agency. He became interested in managed care economics and worked for a Medicare Advantage Plan as Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. Always interested in the economics of healthcare, Patrick then joined Frost & Sullivan, a global healthcare market intelligence consulting firm, as Healthcare Industry Principal Consultant for North America. It was while working with Frost & Sullivan that he met Stephen and Jane Fox and saw multiple applications for Selective Hydro-Mechanical Wound Debridement and Pulsar II™ for U.S. Army Combat Casualty Care. Patrick left Frost & Sullivan to assume duties as Chief Operating Officer for Wound Care Solutions, LLC, U.S. operations.

Patrick holds graduate degrees in Business Administration (MBA) and Healthcare Administration (MHA). He is also an honour graduate of the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College and is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives (FACHE).

Adrianne P. Smith’s professional career has encompassed 9 year tour as a military medical officer in the US Air Force, academia, entrepreneurial activities and corporate management. While on active-duty Dr. Smith served both continental US and overseas assignments, with her last tour of duty as the Department Chief of Emergency Services and EMS Director for the 375th Medical Group, Scott AFB, IL.

In academia, she practiced with the University Physician’s Group and was appointed Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and the Director Quality Assurance-Risk Management, Emergency Department, UTHSC-SA Texas. She served for 5 years as the Founding Medical Director for the Texas Diabetes Institute Department of Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care where she was recognized as the Physician of the Year-2004.

In entrepreneurial activities, Dr. Smith developed a series of CEU-CME approved Emergency Medical/EMS training programs that assisted in training local paramedics, nurses, respiratory therapist, and medical technologist to manage urgent/emergent patient care issues in Out-of-hospital, EMS transport, Nursing Home, and In-patient Long-term Care Facilities. She developed a 3-day Wound Care Program offered in conjunction with the San Antonio Nix Hospital (ATMOS) Hyperbaric Medicine Training Program, training approximately 100-200 physicians and clinicians monthly for 4 years, in addition to physicians rotating at the UTHSCSA.

She authored a manual used as the course’s basic instructional material and was awarded the Jefferson Davis- Clinical Excellence in Hyperbaric Medicine (2003). The manual was subsequently expanded into a medical textbook, Wound Care Practice, 1st edition (co-Ed Sheffield, Smith, Fife), Best Publishing, 2004.

Dr. Smith has authored multiple book chapters, articles, and wound care training programs to teach principles of wound care and hyperbaric medical practice. As a medical consultant she has co-authored national guidelines regarding pressure ulcer care, research in diabetic foot ulcer care, wound care research, development of clinical practice guidelines and hyperbaric medical practice. Her advocacy for wound care, education and research lead to a Master’s Designation with the American Professional Wound Care Association, 2010, honoured as one of the first 8 recipients.

As a member of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) Dr. Smith has been instrumental in helping to found the UHMS Hyperbaric Medicine Accreditation Program now administered jointly with the Joint Commission. Dr. Smith was also a member of the exam development committee for the Council for Medical Education and Testing and is certified in Wound Care (C-MET). Dr. Smith was boarded in Emergency Medicine in 1995.

Dr. Smith has provided more than 200 invited lectures for US and International programs and annual meetings to include (but not limited to) : Skin and Wound Care-SAWC, American Professional Wound Care Association-APWCA, Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society-UHMS, International-UHMS, American Podiatric Medical Association-APMA, Diabetic Foot Updates, Save a Limb Save a Life- SALSA, National Pressure Ulcer Association Panel- NPUAP, European Pressure Association Meeting- EUPAP, European Wound Management Association- EWMA, American Medical Director’s Association-AMDA, Florida Geriatric Medical Association, Diabetic Foot Conference-International (DFCON), East Texas Wound Symposium and American Diabetes Association-ADA.

Dr. Smith’s corporate medical roles have been with Kinetic Concepts, Inc. San Antonio TX (KCI), Diversified Clinical Services, Jacksonville FL (DCS- now Healogics), Regenesis Biomedical Inc. Scottsdale AZ (RBI) and recently BioD LLC. Memphis TN, Consultant Med Director for Derma Sciences, and NuHope Recovery San Antonio TX. Dr. Smith led the medical team to build the basic science understanding, clinical practical application and the clinical and health economic research evidentiary base for the KCI Wound VAC spurring worldwide adoption of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT). As a Senior Medical Advisor with DCS, she was able to directly and indirectly influence medical care rendered through more than 350 hyperbaric medical treatment centres across the United State. Dr. Smith was able to improve awareness of energy-based wound care therapies to reduce pain, suffering and morbidity associated with trauma, surgery and wounds for a predominantly veteran and active-duty patient population. Dr. Smith, serving as the Chief Medical Officer, was instrumental in providing substance use disorder education for patients and a resource for staff. She has transitioned to the role of Chief Scientific Officer to support research in a growing young entrepreneurial program that uses medical-behavioural interventions combined with functional therapies to improve deprescribing, preoperative assessments with postoperative reduced opioid use. Her current role is the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Business Dev for Clytusan Corp- a new start-up manufacturing human and animal wound care products, including a cleanser, lyophilized PRP, and vitamin/protein enriched lotion. He was the interim Dean of the first school of podiatric medicine in a state supported academic health science centre in the nation at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He was the Founding Dean Emeritus and Professor Emeritus of the College of Podiatric Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. He has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as an Outstanding Educator receiving the ADA Educator of the Year and the Presidential Excellence in Teaching Award, respectively.

He is a highly accomplished academic and healthcare executive with 40+ years of leadership in medical school and podiatric medical school, group practice, surgery centre, hospital, and private health care environments. He is known for establishing one of the first diabetic foot programs, which has served as a model for many other programs worldwide.

After an extremely successful career, primarily in marketing positions, Linda Elliott founded Elliott Connection, LLC in 1999, a company specializing in developing profitable connections. She becomes a high-level, strategic partner identifying qualified prospects for her clients and facilitates the meeting process.

She concentrates on helping to develop business alliance relationships. Given her active role in the community, she is able to assist her clients in becoming more involved, in order to elevate awareness of their businesses. Her expertise lies in positioning companies in the Greater San Antonio marketplace.

Linda is a native of El Paso, Linda moved to San Antonio in 1984. She has been very involved in both business and the community. Linda has served on 20 professional, civic and charitable boards in San Antonio. Currently, she serves on the Board of the University Health System Foundation. She’s also an active member of the Oakes Club and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) where she has served in multiple capacities including President.

Some of Linda’s past affiliations include Board of Directors of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce (12 years), Arts San Antonio, American Diabetes Association San Antonio Chapter, ADA TX Affiliate, San Antonio Festival, Texas Business Hall of Fame, Junior League, Girl Scouts of America Nominating Board, SATAI, United Way, San Antonio Youth Literacy Advisory Board, NAIOP, and she served as the San Antonio delegate appointed by then Mayor Henry Cisneros to Future of South Texas Conference. Linda has been selected as a finalist two times for the Athena Award sponsored by the North Chamber and has received various other distinctions throughout the course of her career. Most notably, Linda was the recipient for the 2010 Entrepreneurial Spirit Award for Mentorship by the National Association of Women Business Owners. Additionally, Linda created, manages and facilitates a unique members-only group called the Healthcare Think Tank. Membership consists of a diverse group of professionals who do business in the healthcare industry but are primarily not providers. There are monthly meetings featuring presenters to discuss various topics of interest in the healthcare industry.

On a personal and spiritual note, Linda serves as a Stephen Minister at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. This is her way of sharing her deep-rooted faith with women who are hurting and needing someone to listen and care.

Senior Vice President for Global Sales

Felipe G Vazquez was born and raised in Mexico City, where he graduated from The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with a degree in Social Anthropology. In his twenties, he moved to the United States and Europe to continue his personal growth.

In San Antonio, Texas, he discovered his passion for Health Care, especially in taking care of the elderly population. He worked for Quantum Medical Care, where he was in charge of developing business for the Latino community.

In 2004, Felipe founded Home Caring, a company dedicated to providing personal care to those most in need: seniors and disabled people. Today, Home Caring has more than 250 caregivers making a real difference every day. In 2019, Felipe established Vazquez and Associates Global Medical Supply, a company that exports wound care medical devices to Southeast Asia, Mexico, and Latin America. His efforts now extend to various countries including Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Brazil, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. In February of this year, Felipe accepted the challenge to be the Senior Vice President of International Business Development for Wound Care Solutions, making Pulsar II™ the standard protocol for cleaning wounds.

Besides his work in wound care, Felipe is fluent in Spanish, English, French, Italian, and can communicate in Japanese and Portuguese as well. Additionally, he has a passion for the Fine Arts, especially Sculpture, where he has exhibited his work in more than 30 exhibitions across five countries. All proceeds from his sculptures are donated to non-profit causes and social institutions.
